Aleksandr Ustyugov is a Russian actor, theater and film director, and musician. He was born in the city of Ekibastuz, Kazakh SSR, USSR. After school, he trained as an electrician-fitter and worked at the Vostochny coal mine. Later he began studying to become a railcar-building engineer. He got a job at the Omsk Theater for Young Spectators as a lighting technician, after which he entered the Omsk Regional College of Culture and Art. In 1999 he was accepted into the Boris Shchukin Higher Theater School. There, with students from his course, he staged the graduation play "The Dawns Here Are Quiet...". Later he also staged the play "These Free Butterflies" there.

From 2003 to 2014 he worked at the Russian Academic Youth Theater. His film debut came in 2000, when the actor appeared in the series "March of Turetsky". Ustyugov gained wide fame after appearing in the crime series "Cops' Wars", where he played Roman Shilov, the head of the homicide department of the St. Petersburg criminal investigation service. In 2015, Aleksandr created the music group "Ekibastuz". In addition to film and music, the actor is interested in sports, photography, and motorcycle racing, and collects old keys, antique furniture, and weapons.
