Rick Howland is a Canadian actor living in Los Angeles on a green card, best known for the role of Trick in five seasons of the popular SyFy series Lost Girl. In 2019 and early 2020 he played Borachio in a production of Much Ado About Nothing, the antagonist in the feature film Captain Tsunami's Army, alongside Chris Malki in A Safe Guide to Dying, a severed head on a shelf in Good Head, and Dr. Stan the werewolf-goat in the web series Vampires Next Door, for which he also wrote the script.

Howland was interrogated three times by Yannick Bisson in Murdoch Mysteries, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, and Crazy for Christmas. He is very proud to have become part of Canadian history by playing hockey league commissioner Harry Buttman in the blockbuster Bon Cop Bad Cop alongside Patrick Huard and Colm Feore. He also played the son of Canadian icon Jayne Eastwood in Endless Routine. Appearing in the improv show Train 48 and the recurring role of computer technician Keesh in Paid Hours touched his comedy roots.

Howland co-wrote and directed the short films Underwritten and #Inclusion Rider the movie, and also produced, directed, and edited the YouTube web series Backseat with P and J.

As a singer-songwriter he released the EP Hold My Hand, available on iTunes and many other streaming platforms.
