About the series

A brand new adventure begins.

What it’s about

Vikram Chamberlin, a librarian from the 19th century, finds himself in the modern world with no way back. His castle has become a museum, and while there he inadvertently sets magic loose across the continent. To undo the damage and return home, he teams up with a group of present-day librarians.

Callum McGowan stars as Vikram Chamberlin, with Dominic Monaghan as Merlin. The series received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Fantasy Television Series in 2026. Originally slated for CW, it moved to TNT before its 2025 premiere.

  1. According to CW president Brad Schwartz, the creators of the project wanted to secure the services of at least someone from the cast of the original "Librarians" — even in a cameo role — and Christian Kane expressed a desire to play Jacob Stone again.
  2. Even before the premiere screening, it was announced that the project would move from the CW platform to TNT, and the premiere was postponed from the end of 2024 to 2025.
