At the end of the first season, the FOX Network management cancelled the project, but after numerous protests from fans, a year later, a decision was made to launch a second season.

The first episode of the second season, "Into the Mystic," is a kind of reworking of Frank Baum's "The Wizard of Oz," which can be seen in some scenes of the episode.

In the 20th episode of the second season, "The Big Guys," musician and singer Mel Tormé played himself, but with an adjustment for the fictional reality of a parallel world.

The series is also known under the title "Sliders."
