About the series

No alliance lasts forever.

What it’s about

Kate Wyler takes the ambassadorship to the United Kingdom during an international crisis. The prestigious job puts pressure on her marriage to a political star and threatens her own career.

What hooks you

Keri Russell plays the lead, with Rufus Sewell as her husband. Russell won a Screen Actors Guild Award for best actress in a drama series in 2026. The production secured rare permission to film in real locations, including the new US embassy building and the office of the UK foreign secretary.

Who it’s for

It is worth a look for anyone who enjoys political drama where professional duty clashes with personal loyalty, and for viewers drawn to stories of women balancing high-stakes roles with complicated marriages.

Trivia

  1. The series' creators persuaded the US administration and the UK government to allow them to film not on sets but on location, including the new US embassy building and the office of the UK Foreign Secretary, and such permits are granted extremely rarely, especially for an American project. Only permission to film at the US ambassador's residence in London could not be obtained, so they had to film at the country residence.
