About the series
Two Lupins. One too many.
What it’s about
Assane Diop, a Senegalese immigrant, plans to steal a Marie-Antoinette necklace auctioned at the Louvre. Twenty-five years earlier, his father was wrongly convicted of stealing that very jewel from a wealthy family. Driven by revenge, Assane models himself on the fictional gentleman thief Arsène Lupin, whose adventures he read as a teenager.
What hooks you
Omar Sy stars as Assane Diop, a role that earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series. The series also received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Drama Series. In every episode, Assane's costume includes something orange, a visual motif echoed in the opening titles.
Who it’s for
It is a good pick for those who enjoy clever heists, elaborate disguises, and stories of revenge against the powerful. It will appeal to viewers who like Parisian settings, modern takes on classic literary characters, and a mix of crime and light drama.
