About the series

What it’s about

Sasha and Tanya have graduated and moved out of the dormitory. They now live with their son Alyosha in a two-room apartment in the Moscow suburb of Yuzhnoe Butovo. Money is tight: Sasha has left his office job and ended up at home with the child, while Tanya goes out to work. The mortgage still needs paying, and the bank is not patient.

What hooks you

The show ran for ten seasons and four hundred episodes, so there is plenty of time to spend with these characters. The short episodes keep the comedy tight and the situations familiar.

Who it’s for

It is worth a look for anyone who enjoys domestic sitcoms about young couples, family squabbles, and the clash between old money and new responsibilities.
