About the series

What it’s about

Pavel Derevyanko loses the role of Lomonosov to another actor. He then sets his sights on playing Chekhov, hoping for critical acclaim in a serious dramatic role. When filming begins, the production is halted because Margarita Vasilyevna, Chekhov's great-granddaughter, lives in Taganrog and forbids the film. Pavel returns to his hometown to persuade her, but to win the role he must resolve all the conflicts within her family.
