Hotel "Little Lanterns"

Marat, a hotel security guard, was killed—he shielded guest Yulia Zueva, who was returning late from the theater. Retired officer Biryukov falls under suspicion; he had quarreled with Yulia the day before. Shaposhnikov checks into the hotel under the guise of a business traveler. His wife suspects infidelity and also rents a room next to Shaposhnikov's.
