The Magic Faraway Tree

What it’s about

A London family relocates to a rural property with no gadgets. While Tim grows tomatoes, his younger child discovers an enormous tree in the woods inhabited by magical beings. Climbing to the top leads to a wondrous kingdom where almost anything is possible, from flying buses to wish-granting potions. The older daughter, however, cannot live without social media and longs to return to the city. Her grandmother arrives with an army of iron woodcutters, ready to destroy the forest, and only a miracle can stop her.

Nonso Anozie plays Moonface and Nicola Coughlan plays Silky, two of the tree's eccentric residents. Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy appear as the parents. The film draws on Enid Blyton's classic children's book, adapted by Simon Farnaby.
