Glenda in the film is played by Kathryn Hunter. At one time she taught at the French theater school Ecole Philippe Gaulier, where Sacha Baron Cohen, who played the main character, studied.

Sacha Baron Cohen admitted that he specifically worked out in the gym while preparing for the role. He wanted to make his body more attractive for the scenes with the parallel world. Usually the actor did not attach much importance to his appearance, but for this role he decided to change his look. This enhanced the comic effect he wanted to create.

The idea of showing the homes of the characters played by Rosamund Pike and Sacha Baron Cohen as located in the same place but with interiors noticeably different from each other belonged to cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos.

While working on the body language of her character in the parallel world, Rosamund Pike consulted with costume designer Lauren Rehani.
