What it’s about
Greg Focker has spent ten years trying to earn the acceptance of Jack Byrnes, his wife's intensely watchful father. Now a father of twins and short of money, Greg takes a side job with a pharmaceutical company, and Jack's doubts about him return with force. When the whole family gathers for the twins' birthday, Greg must convince Jack that he can be trusted as the head of his own household.

- Deborah Burns, Pam's sister and a minor character in the comedy "Meet the Parents" (Jay Roach, 2000), is only mentioned in this film. The reason is that the actress who played Deborah, Nicole DeHuff, died in February 2005 at the age of 30.
- Dustin Hoffman disliked the script so much that he refused to return to the role of Bernie Focker. He was also not enthusiastic about the replacement of director Jay Roach by Paul Weitz. After negotiations with Universal Studios, however, an agreement was reached that Hoffman would appear in six scenes.
- Jack claims he needs milk. In real life, Robert De Niro, who played this role, was once nicknamed «Bobby Milk».
- Jay Roach directed every film in the franchise except this one.
