Denis Lavant (born June 17, 1961) is a French film actor, known for his distinctive face and physically demanding roles, often involving buffoonery, acrobatics or dance, as well as his long-standing collaboration with director Leos Carax. Lavant has played the lead role in all but one of Carax's films.

Lavant is also known for lead roles in Claire Denis's film Good Work and Harmony Korine's film Mister Lonely, in which Carax appears in a supporting role.
