Russian film director, screenwriter, and actor. Born and raised in Krasnodar. As a child he attended a theater studio, invented plays on his own, and at school created his own show group. Evgeny received his first professional education in the specialty "electrical engineer." In 1998 Shelyakin graduated from the Krasnodar Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia with the qualification "lawyer" and worked for 4 years in the police as an investigator. At the same time, Evgeny Shelyakin became interested in KVN. In 1995-1998 he was captain of the KVN team of the Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and performed in the Krasnodar city league and for the city team. Later he became captain of the team "Kuban Cossacks," which in 1999 reached the semifinal of the KVN Major League. In 2008 he graduated from VGIK with a degree in "Directing of Feature Films" in Valery Akhadov's workshop[5], where he currently teaches. On television, Shelyakin worked as a screenwriter and director on entertainment programs, and also wrote scripts for series, including "Afro-Muscovite" and "Happy Together." As an employee of the script department of Channel One, he worked on the "New Year's Lights," which later turned into the "Olivier Show." As a screenwriter and director, he took part in creating the popular projects "Prozhektorperiskhilton," "Yesterday Live," and the animated parody show "Mult lichnosti." On these projects, Evgeny Shelyakin worked not only in the studio but also directed location shoots for music videos, sketches, and trailer parodies.

In 2008 he made the short film "Freud's Dolls," and the film "Ch/B" became his directorial debut in feature films. In 2017, Evgeny Shelyakin was one of the screenwriters and directors of the film "About Love. For Adults Only." That same year he took part in writing the script for the comedy "Grandma of Easy Virtue." Evgeny Shelyakin's works were highly praised by the well-known Russian film critic Evgeny Bazhenov, who called him one of his favorite directors and appeared in his film "Friday" in a cameo.
