Marie Rivière (born December 22, 1956) is a French actress and director. She is known for her collaboration with director Éric Rohmer.

From a working-class family, Marie Rivière grew up in a housing complex in Montreuil before working as a schoolteacher and then as a saleswoman. At 21, after seeing "Love in the Afternoon," she sent a letter and a photograph to Éric Rohmer. He received her in his office at Les films du losange in the presence of Arielle Dombasle and Thierry Lhermitte and offered her a small role in "Perceval le Gallois." Two years later, she appeared in Rohmer's film "The Aviator's Wife," the first in the "Comedies and Proverbs" series. "The Green Ray," in which she played the fragile dreamer Delphine, was a critical and commercial success and won the Golden Lion in Venice. In 1998, she appeared again in a Rohmer film, "Autumn Tale," alongside another Rohmer muse, Béatrice Romand.

In 1993, she co-directed her first film, "The Rule of Silence," with Marc Rivière.
