Immediately after graduating from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Paul Bettany began performing on stage. He acted with the Royal Shakespeare Company for a year, from where he moved into film. Later he returned to the stage and performed at London's Bush Theatre, the Royal Court Theatre, and appeared on English television.
