Director Ron Howard
  1. The first person directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller considered for the role of young Han Solo was Alden Ehrenreich. In July 2016, the directors admitted that other actors also auditioned and were suitable for the role, but "that very first guy was better than everyone else." In the end, it was Ehrenreich who was approved for the role.
  2. The casting for the role of Han Solo was the longest since Universal searched for an actor to play Christian Grey in the melodrama "Fifty Shades of Grey" (Sam Taylor-Johnson, 2015).
  3. Initially, it was assumed that the next film after "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" (Gareth Edwards, 2016) would be directed by Josh Trank, but those plans were not destined to come true due to the complete box office failure of his film "Fantastic Four" (2015).
  4. In June 2017, when most of the work on the project was already completed (only three weeks of principal photography remained), Phil Lord and Christopher Miller left it. Lord and Miller had major disagreements with producer Kathleen Kennedy, screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, and other members of the Lucasfilm studio over the directing and overall tone of the film. Miller and Lord approved of the actors' improvisation and wanted the film to have more humor. Kasdan, however, wanted the actors to stick more closely to the script. To finish what had been started, director Ron Howard was brought in to work on the film. However, Howard ultimately reshot more than 80 percent of the material.
  5. This is the first film in which Chewbacca has one of the main roles. Therefore, 8 costumes and 10 heads were created for him.
  6. Harrison Ford said that he had seen the film and that he liked it very much, but he did not attend the premiere screening so as not to overshadow with his presence Alden Ehrenreich, who played the young Han Solo.
