Ruslan Kurashov's parents worked their whole lives in the Pyatnitsky Choir: his father, Vladimir Kurashov, was a soloist of the folk dance ballet, and his mother was a program host. At the age of 14 he played the role of Robert Grant in the television feature film "In Search of Captain Grant".

After school Ruslan entered the Academy of Slavic Culture in the choreography department and became a folk dance ballet artist. For ten years he danced in the "Gzhel" ensemble, then in the song and dance ensemble of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
