Biography

From 1983 to 1988 he studied at the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute (MGPI) named after V.I. Lenin in the philology faculty, but after the 3rd year he left the institute "of his own accord", as he decided to apply to a theater school... In 1988-1989 he worked at secondary school No. 49 in Moscow as a teacher of Russian language and literature. In 1989-1990 he studied at the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography (LGITMiK) named after N.K. Cherkasov in the acting faculty (Ruben Agamirzyan's workshop). And again he left the institute "of his own accord", because he was invited by Yuri Lyubimov to the course he was recruiting at the Moscow Drama and Comedy Theater on Taganka. In 1994 he graduated from the Higher Theater School named after B.V.

Shchukin (Yuri Lyubimov's workshop, acting and directing course), receiving a diploma as "actor of theater, cinema and variety stage". Since 1994 he has been an artist of the Moscow Sovremennik Theater. Since 1996 he has worked in Moscow theaters as a guest stage director. One of the founders and artistic directors of the "Georgy Taratorkin Theater Workshop" (TMT). Since September 2002 he has been assistant artistic director for creative matters and for matters of forming the troupe and repertoire of the Moscow Art Academic Theater (MKHAT) named after A.P. Chekhov. He teaches "acting skills" at the VTU named after B.V. Shchukin and at the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) named after S.A. Gerasimov.
