About the series

Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity

What it’s about

The New York office of the FBI handles the city's most serious crimes. Agents bring their talents, intellect and technical expertise to each major case, working to keep the city and the country safe. The work is demanding: complex investigations that can mislead even experienced detectives, and dangerous operations to apprehend suspects. Cases come one after another without pause, and the agents must stay sharp through every twist.

What hooks you

Created by Dick Wolf, the series marks his first project outside NBC after CBS picked up the idea he had long wanted to make. Missy Peregrym and Zeeko Zaki lead as Special Agents Maggie Bell and Omar Adom «OA» Zidan, with Jeremy Sisto as Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine. A recurring detail: in every episode, Valentine appears with a pencil, either behind his ear or pointing at something.

Who it’s for

It is a good pick for those who like police procedurals with a focus on teamwork and procedure. It will appeal to viewers who enjoy crime dramas set in a bustling city, where each episode brings a new case and the stakes feel immediate.

Trivia

  1. Producer Dick Wolf had long been toying with the idea of a series about the FBI and pitched it to the NBC television network. More specifically, he proposed making this project a spin-off of the series "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." But NBC rejected the idea, while media conglomerate CBS seized on it, and the project became the first Wolf series not to air on NBC.
  2. The FBI's motto is the words "Fidelity" (that is, loyalty), "Bravery" (valor), and "Integrity" (conscientiousness), the first letters of which form the abbreviation FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations).
  3. At some point in every episode, the character played by Jeremy Sisto is shown with a pencil – either the pencil is sticking out from behind his ear, or he is pointing at something with it (which happens even more often).
