The Barrel

What it’s about

A young man regains consciousness in a metal barrel inside an abandoned workshop. He must escape while piecing together how and why he was put there. Estranged from his devout father, he has no one else to turn to: the father is shackled to a pole in the same space and can only advise.

What hooks you

Til Schweiger appears in the cast, with Philippe Reinhardt as the father. The setup confines the action to one room, where the father's limited ability to help raises the stakes. The premise hinges on a son forced to rely on the parent he has rejected.

Who it’s for

It suits viewers who like confined-space thrillers built on family conflict and slow-burning tension, where escape depends on trust and guidance.
