Chris Parker grew up in Christchurch dreaming of dance, and then enrolled at the Toi Whakaari drama school in Wellington. After moving to Auckland, he joined the improv group Snort in its early days, which led to the role of David Halls in the hit show Hudson and Halls Live. Parker's screen work includes writing for and appearing in Funny Girls and Jono And Ben; the latter featured his segment Chris Out Of Water.

He also appeared in the sitcom Golden Boy, co-hosted the podcast turned web series The Male Gayz, and won the Fred Award for Best Show at the 2018 New Zealand International Comedy Festival.
