Born in Zyryanovsk, East Kazakhstan Region. In 1993 he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Tashkent University with a degree in Television Journalism. He worked at the Uzbek Television and Radio Company as a director, author and host of television programs. He shot music videos, commercials and documentaries. From 1997 to 2000 he was a correspondent-cameraman for the Central Asian bureau of the Vremya program.

Since 2003 he has lived in Moscow. He completed Aleksandr Mitta's directing courses. He works as a director and cameraman in advertising and cinema. Dmitry Korobkin became the cameraman and co-director of Lyudmila Gurchenko's last film.
