The chance detention of repeat-offender robber Filin turns into Volkov having to search for evidence in what seemed to be a simple case of a street attack on passersby. Under pressure, Filin confesses that before the detectives arrived, he managed to throw a bag with stolen jewelry and a pistol out the window of his apartment.
Volkov's team is brought in to investigate the mysterious murder of a police captain, found strangled in his own car with a bag over his head. According to the deceased's superior, the captain had been surveilling businessman Yevtyushkin, suspected of hiding income.
Volkov, Lapin and Varvara are getting together for the anniversary of their old friend and classmate from police school. However, upon arriving at the restaurant for the celebration, the friends find him dead.
Volkov is approached for help by his boss. The thing is, the general's son was moonlighting as an on-call stripper. The latest order came from the home of the famous producer Zhemchuzhin.
