Stories from the set

Not only the plot of "The Taming of the Shrew" is borrowed from the classic, but collisions from "Romeo and Juliet" are added, and toponymic names from the works of the English playwright are turned into proper names (Verona, Stratford). The school attended by the main character is called "Padua", after the Italian city of the same name where the action of Shakespeare's plays took place.

Cameron's line ("I burn, I pine, I perish") is taken verbatim from The Taming of the Shrew.

Julia Stiles is 3 months older than Larisa Oleynik; the age difference between the characters they played is 2 years.

Julia Stiles auditioned for the role of Bianca, but ultimately got the role of Kat, and the role of Bianca was played by Larisa Oleynik.

In one moment, for a split second, a door is shown with a sign hanging on the wall next to it. Surnames are written on it in chalk. One of them is "Max Chernov".
