François Chattot is a French actor and theater director. Former director of the Dijon-Burgundy National Dramatic Center. A graduate of the Strasbourg National Theater School (1974-1977), he showed great loyalty to certain directors such as Jean-Louis Hourdin, Matthias Langhoff, Jean Jourdheuil, and Jean-François Peyret. From 2004 to 2006 he was a resident at the Comédie-Française, where he created Thomas Bernhard's Heldenplatz and Novarina's February in space. He acted under the direction of Irina Bono in Heiner Müller's Tractor (Vidy-Lausanne / Théâtre de la Bastille, 2003). Among his numerous roles in recent years are Hölderlin, letter to his mother, directed by J. Chemillier (Vidy-Lausanne / MC93), two plays by Bernard-Marie Koltès directed by Jacques Nichet at the Théâtre de la Ville de Paris (Return to the Desert, 1995, Battle of the Negroes and Dogs directed by J. Jouanneau (Vidy-Lausanne / Théâtre de la Montagne, 1997), Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett, directed by Luc Bondy (Vidy-Lausanne / National Odéon Theater, 1999).

From January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2012 he was director of the Dijon-Burgundy National Dramatic Theater Center, where he created director Irène Bono's Music Hall 56 by John Osborne. In March 2008 he created in Dijon Outside, a cycle dedicated to Yves Chaudouët. In November 2008 he played Hamlet in Matthias Langhoff's new creation, in Dijon and on tour. In addition, François Chattot is a director who has already staged dozens of shows, including Henri Alleg's The Question, one alongside another, created by the Dijon-Burgundy theater. He also co-authored with Jean-Louis Hourdin The Brotherhood of the Robbers, based on fables from the Middle Ages and Renaissance, premiered in June 2007 in Dijon and at the Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier of the Comédie-Française. In film we have seen him, notably in Fifi Martingale by Jacques Rozier, Adolphe by Benoît Jacquot, Monsieur N. by Antoine de Caunes, Fanfan la Tulipe by Gérard Krawczyk, or B13, produced by Luc Besson in 2004. He also played the father of Brice and Kir Canon on TV.
