He graduated from the Lycée Marcel Roby in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. He is a graduate of the Versailles Academy of Cinematic Arts in Paris (Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma Français). He knows 3 languages - French, Russian and English. He is married and has three children. Until the age of 23 he worked in French cinema and television, and was awarded a prestigious prize - the second prize of the Versailles Conservatory of Dramatic Art.

Olivier Siou's ancestors lived in Moscow and St. Petersburg before the revolution, and he himself first visited Russia in 1986. He worked as a bartender, a DJ, and took part in photo shoots for fashion magazines. His first film role after a long break was Louis Demencourt in Vlad Lanne's series "Split". Siou now works actively in Russia, and already has about a dozen projects to his credit.
