Tribes that keep modern cities in fear.

    45 min

"Banana Republic" is exactly the kind of association this country evokes among people in our latitudes. But the exotic fruit is far from all that Ecuador can surprise you with. First of all, it is a country of striking contrasts, where hot jungles neighbor the snowy peaks of the Andes, and wild tribes still live next to big cities, ready to kill for intruding on their lands. Ecuador is a country of freedom and madness, where the line between good and evil is erased. There is everything here, from fluffy llamas and carefree "chagras" cowboys on the mountain peaks to unusual Indian rituals and the legal oldest female profession. Uncontacted tribes still keep in fear anyone who dares to travel into the tropical forest. The number of such Indians is unknown, but attacks are not isolated cases.

The village of Bameno and the cruel traditions of blood feuds.

    45 min

The project team, together with local guides, set off along the tributaries of the Amazon through impassable jungles to the most remote settlement of the Waorani Indians, Bameno. The team's route lies through the territory of uncontacted tribes, where any stop, even for a few minutes, can lead to death. Finding Ecuador's uncontacted tribes is the cherished dream of many researchers from all over the world, but approaching them is practically impossible, since they kill without warning anyone who sets foot on their lands. It was believed that the cruel tradition of blood feuds was already a thing of the past, until a real inter-clan war broke out in the Ecuadorian jungle in 2013. For the murder of their elder, Waorani who are in contact with the civilized world slaughtered an entire village of uncontacted people. Dozens of people died then.

All about the life of modern Waorani and the recipe for chicha.

    45 min

Bameno is a large Waorani community where about 150 people live. They belong to the part of the Indian tribes that made contact with civilization in the 1950s. From Bameno to the nearest city there are hundreds of kilometers of wild jungle. The project team took almost 2 days to get here by boats along the tributaries of the Amazon. They had to pass through the territory of uncontacted tribes, where Indians still kill without warning all foreigners. The Waorani of Bameno met the film crew in their traditional appearance, the way their parents used to dress. The Indians wore almost no clothes, their faces were painted with red paint, and the women wore many bright ornaments. To stay in the tribe, Dmitry Komarov needs to meet the oldest and most respected resident of Bameno, the chief of the tribe named Kemperi, and also, to learn how the tribe gets food, the "World Inside Out" team will go to the local "garden" for yuca.

Hunting in the jungle and what deadly poison tastes like.

    45 min

The TV host continues to study the traditions and rituals of the Indians from the Waorani tribal group living in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Despite the fact that nowadays many tribes already wear modern clothes and use a router, they get their food just as they did hundreds of years ago, in the jungle. The wild forest is a home for the Indians, where there is everything. From plants they have learned to make both medicine and weapons. Since ancient times, tribes have had knowledge of preparing deadly poisons and still use dangerous substances in everyday life. In this episode, Dmitry Komarov saw how the Waorani shoot and get food, catch fish, and also tasted the deadly curare poison, with which the men kill animals while hunting.

Operation "Auca" and the story of saving uncontacted tribes.

    45 min

In the middle of the last century, five young missionaries from the USA flew to Ecuador. They dreamed of being the first to open up the still uncontacted Waorani tribe. The missionaries knew about the cruelty of these Indians, but believed they could find an approach to them. This operation was called "Auca", which translates as "savage". The missionaries kept its details in the strictest secrecy and recorded every step on an amateur camera. The first steps of Operation "Auca" were successful. Having spotted settlements from the air, the missionaries began exchanging gifts with them. They dropped knives and other useful things from the plane on a rope until they received the first gifts: a parrot and a roasted monkey. Taking this as a sign of friendliness, the missionaries risked meeting the tribe in person. On January 6, 1956, an important historical event for this region took place: the most significant contact with the Waorani, which subsequently changed the culture of an entire people. But later, because of one photograph, the whole group was stabbed with spears. The Americans until the last did not fulf

Rodeo with the fiercest bulls and llama racing.

    45 min

The project team leaves the jungle and heads to the Andes to learn how the local Chagras cowboys live. These people are the best riders in Ecuador and tamers of fierce bulls. The Chagras live on so-called "haciendas" or farms where cattle are raised. Only the animals here are unusual. The Chagras raise bulls of the "Bravo" breed, distinguished by particular aggressiveness and strength. Therefore, they must be handled very carefully, because a bull can attack at any moment. In addition, the animals here do not live in stalls but graze freely until people need to drive them back from the pastures into the herd. This is the most dangerous part of the chagra's work. The "World Inside Out" team will also go to another bright event in the Ecuadorian Andes: llama racing. This championship can safely be called one of the most unusual races in the world, because the riders here are children.

The Nettle Cleansing Ritual and the Trial of Indigenous Peoples.

    45 min

Ecuador is a country of crazy customs. Here, workers in the oldest profession loudly declare their rights and form unions, and love for money is not considered shameful. The fact is that in this country the oldest female profession is legal. But how workers in this field actually live, how they themselves and their spouses feel about their profession, TV viewers will learn in a new episode of the program. In Ecuador there is an unusual cleansing ritual which, locals believe, helps cleanse both the soul and the body of sins and negative energy. That is why Ecuadorians resort to it constantly. "Love workers" are cleansed by it too, criminals are punished with it, the evil eye is removed, and it helps children settle into sleep. It is practiced in special traditional medicine clinics. And for the indigenous peoples of Ecuador, the right to vigilante justice is even enshrined at the legislative level. During such a trial, the decision is made by the whole community, not just a judge. How such trials take place, Dmytro Komarov will also show in the new program.

To learn the whole truth about Ecuadorian bananas, the host will meet Edward Weisz, a Ukrainian working as head of the quality control department in the "banana republic." At the same time, they will go on a secret inspection of a plantation, during which Dmytro will learn how the fruits that will benefit Ukrainians rather than harm them should be grown. In addition, the "World Inside Out" team will learn the specifics of treating the trees and find out how dangerous such chemicals can be to human health and whether the bananas on our store shelves are safe.
