Yuri Belyayev — biography, films, roles and trivia

Biography

As a child Yuri Belyayev moved with his parents to the city of Stupino in Moscow Oblast. At the age of 16 he joined the "Stupino Theatre-Studio of the Young" under the direction of O.A. Livanova. After finishing school he worked at a factory, served in the army, worked as a DOSAAF instructor, as a janitor, and as a loader in the production workshops of the Moscow Art Theatre in Moscow.

He graduated from the Shchukin Theatre School (1975, course of L. Stavskaya). Since 1975 he has been an actor at the Moscow Taganka Theatre. Honoured Artist of Russia (1995).

From his first marriage, Yuri Belyaev has two children — daughter Olga (b. 1981) and son Alexei (b. 1987); from his second, a son Alexander (b. 1998).
